Welcome to the languages department. Our department motto is strive for excellence in Languages. As a department we are aware of fact that the success of the school is largely dependent on the success of Language subjects. For the department to achieve success we have to sacrifice a lot and this is why members do a lot of extra testing and marking. The department is determined to strive in the subjects by encouraging students to stick to the schools language policy of using English on Monday to thursday and reverting to Kiswahili.
Apart from classroom situations, students are also encouraged to do extra tasks especially through debate club and journalism club. Under our supportive senior principal, this department is embarked on revision programmes that are geared towards improving the performance to greater heights. We are optimistic that the future is bright.

Kiswahili ni mojawapo ya masomo katika Idara ya Lugha na Isimu katika shule ya upili ya wasichana-Vokoli. Twajivunia matokeo bora katika mitihani (ya shuleni na ya kitaifa)
Kupitia kwa makongamano mbalimbali, majarida, mashindano na mijadala, wanafunzi hupokea uzoefu wa kuzungumza na kuandika kwa Kiswahili. Vilevile, Chama cha Kiswahili, kimechangia pa kubwa katika kuandaa mashindano na shule zingine ili kuboresha mazungumzo na baadaye, matokeo ya mitihani. Kwa msingi huu imara katika lugha, wanafunzi wengi hujiunga na vyuo vikuu kusomea kozi mbalimbali zinazo tambulika nchini na ulimwenguni kote.
Kando na hayo, kuna sera maalum ya Lugha inayo thibiti matumizi ya sheng katika mazungumzo na maandishi. Vile vile, wanafunzi huandaliwa kwa tamasha za muziki na nyimbo kwa kuimba, kukariri mashairi na kuigiza. Isitoshe, waigizaji hualikwa na kuigiza fasihi(andishi na simulizi) ili kuwapa wanafunzi mtazamo wa moja kwa moja.
