The department offers three Science subjects; Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Science teachers in the department are committed in equipping the learners with theoretical and practical scientific skills that will enable students acquire relevant knowledge and skills for further education and training in scientific field and other related areas as outlined in the 8.4.4 objectives of teaching Science subjects.
Some of the teaching-learning activities put in place to attain the best include; ensuring effective syllabus coverage within allocated time, employing team- teaching, regular testing and rewarding of top and most improved students, getting resource persons to talk to the students, exposing students to symposia both internal and external, collaborating with other schools in joint examinations, participation of our teachers in workshops, providing the learners with an opportunity to participate actively in science clubs & Science and Engineering Fair (SAEF).
The department has three laboratories and e-learning equipment to enhance the teaching- learning of the Science subjects. Lab technicians assist in organizing chemicals and apparatus for practicals.
